Chris doesn’t like me posting him on the internet, although there is an occasional sneak peak. No swine flu yet. With all of these great subjects, the photography is easy. mahalo

    Hi Rene,
Great blog! I really enjoy your pics and stories.
I’m originally from the Islands and now reside in LA. Although I’m from Oahu, seeing Kauai through your eyes reminds me how lucky I was to have grown up there. I sure miss it.
    Keep up the good work!

    Hi Rene,

just happened to come across your blog, looking for info about the Kauai Jungle Fowl (much more ancient than what some people have been saying, tracing their presence back to Iniki …).

It’s a wonderful blog, your pictures are awesome.

They take me back to a magic island where I spent the most enchanting years of my life.

The island itself is just as you show it : miraculously and uniformly enchanting.

Thanks to you, I just loved taking a stroll through landscapes I was slowly beginning to forget … How could I ?

Thank you for this trip back in time and space.

    Hi Rene,
I’m looking forward to your visit to my home on the Weeki Wachee River. Your pictures are sure to capture a unique view of old Florida!

Thanks for the compliment, Flip, I really can’t wait to get there. Everything is white and frozen where I live now. It was 13 degrees when I came home from work last night. I am very familiar with the whole Weeki Wachee area and I love it. I have taken some of my best photos ever while canoeing down from the spring head and I love the parks a bit further down Shoal Line Road. http://www.candidflorida.com/tag/shoal-line-road I’m so looking forward to using your jon boat too. I’ve lined up a 5 hp nissan motor to go with it while I’m down there so I can see all of that marsh area from a different angle.

    Aloha Rene,

I have read your review of the Prince Golf Club located in beautiful Princeville Resort on the island of Kauai. You posted on March 2010 about your experience on the golf course.
I have taken over the maintenance department since 2011 and we completely renovated the course. We shut it down for over a year to bring it back to its former glory. The crew has worked extremely hard for over three years now and we would put the course up against any other in the entire state of Hawaii. I would like to say that if you give the course another chance after the renovations you will not be disappointed.

Aloha and we will see you soon.
